iBus//MessageServer is a highly flexible, pure Java messaging solution based on the JMS standard by Sun Microsystems. iBus//MessageServer implements the JMS Publish/Subscribe as well as the JMS Point-to-Point model.
iBus//MessageServer differs from competing products in that it can be configured to use any transport protocol on any transportation media. iBus//MessageServer supports TCP/IP and SSL. UDP, reliable and unreliable IP multicast (see iBus//RealTime), HTTP as well as HTTPS (see iBus//Web) are available as add-ons.
You can implement your own protocols (e.g., for wireless communication) and "plug" them into iBus//MessageServer easily. This allows you to make best use of network resources and to support a wide set of applications, ranging from e-Business to embedded systems.
iBus//MessageServer transparently translates between protocols: A producer submits messages by TCP/IP, for example. The message server forwards these messages by HTTP to web clients, by reliable IP multicast to in-house clients, by WAP or SMS to handheld devices, and so forth.
Using the iBus//ANSI-C add-on, iBus//MessageServer can exchange information with non-Java applications and with legacy systems.
